What is Phototherapy at Victoria’s?

Phototherapy facial treatments use LED light to stimulate the skin’s natural rejuvenation process, activating collagen production under the outer layers of the skin to kickstart the process which freshens the skin and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Enjoy your phototherapy treatments in our luxurious new phototherapy clinic and relax in one of our heated lounges while your skin becomes smoother, clearer and brighter. After your course of treatments, you can expect to see an improvement in skin tone, clarity and texture – helping you to look your best.

Phototherapy Treatments

With phototherapy, we can provide skin rejuvenation, regeneration, purification, calming and toning of the face and body by delivering an optimum dosage of specific narrowband light to the targeted areas over a relaxing 10 – 20 minute treatment session all while relaxing in a beautiful luxurious Spa Vision lounge. What more could you want?

By offering treatments that are non-invasive and non-ablative this is skin rejuvenation at its very best.

Phototherapy treatment ticks all the right boxes for so many things. It’s pain free, non-invasive, and requires no downtime.

Phototherapy, also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and LED Therapy, is the application of selective multiple wavelengths of light to:

  • Help with anti-ageing
  • Reduce peri-orbital wrinkles (wrinkles around the eyes)
  • Skin firming lightening and brightening
  • Counteracts the effects of sun damage
  • Help heal acne prone skin
  • Use as adjunct to fillers, Hydrafacial and Laser genesis and Picogenesis

By stimulating the bodies naturally occurring regeneration and repair processes we can achieve:

  • Reduction of inflammation
  • Relief of acute and chronic pain
  • Stimulation of blood flow
  • Stimulation of wound and soft tissue healing and repair.
  • Alone or part of a muscle and sport injury rehabilitation program

These clinically proven wavelengths, optimised intensities and unique adjustable dose provides a one-of-a-kind flexibility for many medical and cosmetic applications.

Omnilux and Xen Phototherapy Treatments

Victoria’s Cosmetic Medical Clinic uses medical strength Omnilux or XEN Phototherapy treatments for skin rejuvenation. We provide a pleasurable experience that:

  • Promotes naturally occurring regeneration and repair processes of the skin and deeper tissues.
  • Stimulates blood flow and the penetration and activation of skincare products applied topically to the skin.
  • Does not produce any uncomfortable heat, feels calming and many clients fall into sleep during treatment.
  • Using specific red and near infrared wavelengths of light it has been demonstrated to enhance cellular metabolism and cell permeability which allows topical active products to penetrate deeper and speeds up the activation of ingredients in the skin.
  • Using clinically proven wavelengths of monochromatic light we can stimulate specific cells within the body resulting in reduction in wrinkles and hyperpigmentation and general dyschromia of the skin and acne lesions.
  • Calms the skin as well as enhance skin texture and tone.

Photobiomodulation Treatments

Victorias Cosmetic Medical Clinic are also the proud owners of the

Thor Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy) System

Photobiomodulation allows us to heal patients quickly and efficiently with light

For example… on Star Trek when someone is injured, they are taken to the sick bay where the doctor uses a laser to heal the patient instantly.

We use those (just not quite as instant!)

All jokes aside.. Yes, we have the ability to help a lot of people with light therapy treatment. This is called Photobiomodulation, previously known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) and is considered by many scientists to be a “new branch of medicine” (Dr Roberta Chow MD PhD).

Light (within certain parameters) can regenerate tissue, reduce inflammation and reduce pain. It does this by increasing cellular energy and reducing oxidative stress. These effects have been tested in over 700 clinical trials (RCT’s) and thousands of laboratory studies and published in many leading journals including The Lancet, BMJ, Nature, PNAS, Spine, Muscle and Nerve, Pain, Stroke etc.

Dedicated PBM clinics are being born every month around the world to meet public demand for pain relief.

Victoria’s Cosmetic Medical Clinic has been successfully using Photobiomodulation since 2005 with many successful results.

Photobiomodulation improves tissue repair (skin wounds; muscle, tendon, bone, nerves) reduces inflammation and pain wherever the beam is applied.

Treatments typically 1 – 10 minutes and should be applied two or more times a week.
