How does Omnilux Light Therapy Treatment work?
Omnilux works with the body’s natural processes to counteract the effects of ageing and clear acne-prone skin.
At Victoria’s Cosmetic Medical Clinic, our Omnilux machine features three interchangeable LED light treatment heads, each with a different colour light or wavelength. This emits a specific narrow band wavelength of light which has proven to be effective on the area being treated.
Different Omnilux Options
Using different combinations of the LED treatment heads means that we can deliver effective treatment protocols for acne, wrinkle rejuvenation and for the reduction of periorbital (around the eyes) wrinkles.
Omnilux Revive uses 630nm red light therapy to hydrate and plump the skin while reducing fine lines and wrinkles, through the stimulation of the skin’s natural collagen production.
Omnilux Plus uses near 830nm infrared light, which penetrates deeper in the skin, stimulating collagen, making it useful to heal skin tissue and scarring associated with injuries, burns or acne-scarring.
Omnilux Blue uses 430nm light therapy, which is a specially optimised treatment for acne. The blue LED light kills acne-causing bacteria without any side effects on the skin.
Xen LED Therapy
In addition to OmniluxTM LED Therapy, Victoria’s also offers Xen LED Therapy, which is a similar alternative. We will discuss which option is best for you at your consultation.
Xen LED Therapy is able to deliver intense levels of Red, Infra-Red or Blue Light depending on the skin condition being targeted.
For example, Red Light would be selected for general skin rejuvenation and improving overall skin appearance, while, Blue Light is useful in the treatment and control of acne.
What happens during treatment?
Makeup or sunscreen will be removed before the treatment. Safety eyewear will then be provided as the light is positioned close to your face.
The treatment has previously been described as relaxing and enjoyable as well as delivering exceptional results. Your session will take 20 minutes and once complete, you can go back to your normal routine straight away!
