We are happy to offer our clients relief from stretch marks

Although they are not overly detrimental to a patient’s health, stretch marks can cause physical symptoms such as itchiness, tenderness and pain.

Because of their visual appearance, they can also have a tendency to affect the patient’s self-esteem and self-image.

Stretch marks usually appear on the abdomen, breasts, hips and thighs and less commonly on the buttocks. They initially appear as slightly raised pink to purple linear bands that eventually mature to become pale, atrophic and finely wrinkled lines.

Stretch marks may result from pregnancy, rapid weight gain or loss and in some instances occur due to puberty or steroid use.

Prevention of stretch marks during pregnancy

Stratamark is recommended for use from the beginning of the second trimester (13 weeks) or at the first sign of stretch marks. Treatment should be continued following birth for a minimum of 60 – 90 days.

Prevention of stretch marks during growth spurts

Stratamark should be used for the duration of the growth spurt or until the skin is no longer tightly stretched. Treatment should be continued for an additional 60 – 90 days.

Treatment for existing stretch marks

Stratamark should be used for at least 60 – 90 days, applied once a day. Continued use is recommended until no further improvement is seen. Severe and/or older stretch marks may need longer treatment. Stratamark may also be used in combination with other stretch mark treatments including laser therapy with the advice of your therapist.

Other Treatments to get rid of Stretch Marks

Laser/I.P.L

These methods may be used to fade the colour of new stretch marks. You will need to book a consultation to discuss the need for Laser/I.P.L. treatment.

enlighten™ Pico Genesis FX

This method is used to treat old stretch marks. What we try to achieve here is firming and refining of the stretched tissue.

Skin Needling Stretch mark treatment

This method uses either the dermaroller or e-dermastamp to create tiny pin-holes into the skin through to the level of the dermis. Your natural healing will then take place and lay down new collagen deposits thereby creating some firming of the tissue with overall improvement in the appearance of the stretchmarks.
