Wedding Beauty Timeline: Skin, Nails, & More

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! At this point, we’re sure your venue is sorted, dress is picked, and you’re spending all your extra time finalising a cake, sending out invitations, and more. With all the planning that goes into a wedding, there’s one thing that sometimes falls through the cracks: scheduling all of your beauty treatments leading up to the big day.

From skincare to nails to brows, we’re here to help you get organized with your pre-wedding glow up. Whether your wedding is 4 months, 2 weeks, or 2 days away, keep reading for our wedding beauty timeline that will ensure you will look and feel your best as you say, “I do.”

Start trying some nail styles: Figuring out the perfect nail style for your wedding can take some planning. At 4 months before your wedding, start going in for manicures and playing with different colours, designs, and shapes. Seeing them next to your dress can also help you decide which style best matches your wedding-day look.

Test out any new beauty treatments: If you’re planning on trying any new beauty treatments, test them out at least 4 months before your wedding, so you know what works for you and what doesn’t far enough in advance before the big day. These are just a few of the treatments that you should try well in-advance of your wedding day:

Decide on a skincare regime and stick to it: At least four months before your wedding, you should crack down on your skincare routine. This means removing makeup every night, exfoliating, moisturising, and the works in order to see the best results before your big day. If you haven’t curated a consistent routine yet, try our 5-Step Skincare Routine for a simple yet effective package.

Create a game plan with a skin specialist: If you want to start some new skincare products or figure out a customised plan for treatments leading up to your wedding, consult a skin specialist. At Victoria’s Cosmetic Medical Clinic, we offer customised skin consultations. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin and work with you to create a complete plan of what treatments to get done and when leading up to your wedding.

Go in for your last chemical peel facial: Chemical peels can work wonders for resurfacing, rejuvenating, and smoothing your skin. However, we recommend you go in for your last deep chemical peel 2 months before your wedding, since you may have some redness or peeling following the treatment and don’t want to cut it too close.

Book in the rest of your beauty therapy appointments: Booking your beauty treatments in advance is extra crucial for spring/summer weddings, since this is when clinics are usually at their busiest. Two months prior to your wedding, be sure to book in a date for the following:

  • A gentle, hydrating facial
  • Eyebrows/eyelashes
  • Manicure/pedicure
  • Body waxing

If you choose Victoria’s for these treatments, you can easily book online for these appointments at https://victoriascosmeticclinic.mylocalsalon.com/onlinebooking/v7410/Steps/SelectServices.aspx

Go in for your last laser facial: Laser facials can be more gentle than chemical peels, so your last one can be a month before your wedding. Since you can still experience some redness and sensitivity from a laser facial, you want to make sure that you have some time for your skin to completely calm before your wedding.

PS: Pico Genesis is a perfect laser treatment for pre-wedding prep!

Get your final eyebrow treatments done: At 1-2 weeks ahead of your wedding, go in for your last eyebrow wax, tint, lamination, or whichever style you prefer. This gives your brows time to settle before your wedding, but not enough time to grow back yet.

Get your final eyelash treatments done: If you have eyelash extensions, getting a refill 1-2 weeks prior to your wedding will ensure that you have a fresh look. This also gives you time to rule out any irritation or eye redness on the day-of your wedding.

Receive a gentle, hydrating facial: Even though you’ve stopped your chemical peels and laser treatments, you can still give your skin a boost of hydration with a very gentle, hydrating facial a week out from your wedding.

We recommend a Hydrafacial at this time, because it’s perfect for all skin types, gentle, and the results are immediate and long-lasting.

Get your body waxing done: Book in your body waxing appointment one week before your big day. This will give you smooth, hair-free skin for both your wedding and your honeymoon. Giving your skin a few days to settle will also make sure you don’t have any lingering redness or bumps.

Discontinue some skincare products: Up to this point, we’re sure you’ve been vigilant with your skincare routine. However, stop using your retinol and AHA’s/BHA’s a week before your wedding to ensure that you don’t have any dryness or irritation on your wedding day. Focus more on gently washing and moisturising for this next week.

Get your final manicure and pedicure: To ensure you don’t end up with any chips before your wedding, plan to get your final manicure and pedicure 2 days before (or even the day before) your wedding. It’s always recommended to choose a gel or shellac polish that will last for 1 week or so over a nail varnish that may chip in just a couple days.

Spray tan: If you are getting a spray tan before your wedding, do so two days before, so the tan is settled into the skin but not yet starting to fade. Doing this two days in advance instead of the day before will also ensure that the tan doesn’t transfer to your wedding dress.

Hydrate & sleep: On the day before your wedding, you should have all of your beauty treatments done, so you can spend the day relaxing (or making those last-minute wedding preparations). Be sure to drink enough water and get some good beauty rest.
