Photobiomodulation (PBM), also referred to as Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT), is a non-invasive treatment that uses red and near-infrared light to support the body’s natural recovery processes. The light is delivered to targeted areas to help reduce inflammation, relieve musculoskeletal discomfort, and support tissue repair at a cellular level.

At Victoria’s Cosmetic Medical Clinic, PBM/LLLT is used to support musculoskeletal discomfort involving muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments. It may be beneficial for strains, sprains, general aches, post-exercise soreness, and as part of post-procedure recovery support.

PBM/LLLT is also commonly used to assist wound healing and scar management by supporting the body’s natural repair processes and helping to improve the appearance and texture of scars over time. Outcomes can vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated.

Important: PBM/LLLT is not intended for serious medical conditions or for severe, unexplained, or worsening pain. If you have concerns about your symptoms, a medical assessment is recommended.
